AT&T Fiber will be launching in 10 major metro areas in October

Throughout the month of October, AT&T is announcing the launch of ultra-fast internet service in 11 major metro areas. Eligible locations in the area will be connected to a 1 gigabit internet connection under the AT&T FiberSM umbrella brand.

The areas are Augusta, Bakersfield, Columbus, Detroit, Greater New Orleans Area, Huntsville, Louisville, Lubbock, Memphis, Mobile and NW Arkansas.

Currently the ultra-fast internet service is available in parts of 40 major metro areas, with plans to reach at least 45 metros by the end of this year and 67 overall.
