I LOVE this time of year! It’s the heart of summer, AND my favorite season of all is right around the corner: “NPS,” aka New Phone Season! NPS kicks off at the end of summer when, in past years, all the big-name phone makers unveiled fantastic new innovations at glitzy press conferences around the country. This is when we first learned about HD phone screens, front and rear facing cameras, fingerprints to unlock your phone, the term “one more thing” (which always means “one more amazingly-huge-awesome thing”) and so much more.
Smartphones are central to our lives now, and mobile OEMs continue to AMAZE me with their ability to innovate, which is one reason this upcoming crop of new flagship devices is rumored to have higher prices than ever before. Entry-level prices are rumored to be close to $1,000 for the first time ever … and up to $1,300 for models with more memory.
