Samsung will create an all-screen front for the Galaxy S8 smartphones coming out next year and scrap the physical home button, according to Bloomberg. The agency quotes “people with direct knowledge of the matter”.
Virtual home button will be buried in the glass in the the lower section, and the phones will come with wraparound displays using organic light-emitting diode technology.
The rumors are that Samsung will release the S8 in March or April next year. This time the company will do extensive testing in order to prevent any technical issues.
The new S8 will include digital assistant similar to Apple’s Siri.
Samsung acquired artificial-intelligence software company Viv Labs in October and said last month that its new S8 will come with AI-enabled features.
