Verizon and Ericsson achieve 6.4 Gbps in 5G tests in a moving car

On the eve of the 101st running of Indianapolis 500, Verizon and Ericsson tested fifth generation (5G) wireless mobile technology at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

As you can see in the video the maximum speed was 6.4 Gbps. Just to make a comparison- most people enjoy 50 or 100 Mbps on their home fixed networks.

The most impressive part of this video is the blind test which proves very low latency although the two companies did not disclose. They only said thtat latency was extremely low.

Such high speed and low latency will be needed in virtual reality games and antonomous cars.
